A new rainfall record for the date was set at the Roseburg Regional Airport on Monday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 1240 KQEN that the airport received 1.71 inches of rain between 12:00 a.m. Monday and 12:00 a.m. Tuesday. The previous record for the date was 1.64 inches, recorded in 2007.

While the area got a heavy dose of precipitation Monday, rainfall amounts are set to subside. The Flood Watch in central Douglas County has been canceled.
