A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 10:00 a.m. Friday for central Douglas County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said 2 to 6 inches of snow is expected above 2,000 feet. This applies mainly to higher terrain east of Interstate 5, including Highway 227, the Tiller to Trail Highway over the Umpqua Divide.

Forecasters said travel could be difficult.
