The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a man on Wednesday, and charged him in an alleged recent assault.
A DCSO report said a victim called in to report an altercation that occurred Tuesday night in the 1000 block of Cleveland Hill Road. The report said the victim was hit in the head with a night stand, which resulted in her needing 6 stitches. The victim claimed she was strangled for about 20 seconds and said the suspect held a knife to her.
The report said the suspect was located and taken into custody at about 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.
50-year Wesley Ayers was charged with fourth-degree assault, strangulation and menacing. Bail for Ayers was set at $18,750.
