Two people were detained early Wednesday, apparently in connection with an hours-long search for armed suspects in Drain.
Tuesday evening around 8:00 p.m. the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office posted a message on its Facebook page, asking for residents of the north Douglas County community to secure their homes, shut their blinds, and lock their vehicles, due to law enforcement activity that was taking place.
The News Review is reporting that at least one shot was fired by a law enforcement officer in a confrontation with two suspects of a drive-by shooting. A significant number of law enforcement officers from multiple agencies converged on the Drain area, shortly before 7:00 p.m.
At about 3:10 a.m. scanner traffic indicated that a resident had reported someone had just tried to break into their residence. About five minutes later, officers said two people had been detained.
More information is expected later Wednesday from DCSO.
