TRANSIENT JAILED AFTER ALLEGEDLY ATTEMPTING TO BURN DOWN LIQUOR STORE

A transient was jailed he allegedly attempted to burn down the Riddle Liquor Store on Christmas Eve.

Information released Tuesday from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just before 7:00 a.m. 27-year Lorenzo Brown had allegedly broken into the business in the 300 block of Main Street. Brown then reportedly started a fire which caused significant damage. He then allegedly tried to break into the fire department nearby. He was located a few hours later and was taken into custody.

Charges included first-degree arson, second-degree burglary, first and second-degree counts of criminal mischief, reckless burning, third-degree theft, first-degree trespass and for resisting arrest. After arraignment, bail for Brown was set at $30,000.
