The Douglas County Major Crimes Team is investigating an officer involved shooting which took place in Drain, Tuesday evening.

Sergeant Daniel Allen of the Roseburg Police said at approximately 6:30 p.m. RPD detectives were called in to assist at the incident. Sergeant Allen said during an initial investigation by another law enforcement agency, a male suspect was shot and then fled the area with a female associate.

A subsequent search of the area conducted by numerous agencies resulted in the capture of both suspects at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday. The male was transported to a local medical facility where he received treatment.

Sergeant Allen said the Major Crimes Team is continuing to investigate and there is no known ongoing threat to the public.

Sergeant Allen said more information will be released when it is available.
