3 MORE DEATHS, 151 NEW POSITIVE TEST RESULTS, 19 NEW PRESUMPTIVE

3 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 151 more people have received new positive test results and 19 more are presumptive, as of Wednesday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Weekly Update covered data reported between December 23rd and Wednesday.

The newly reported deaths include:

*A 69-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on November 11th and passed away on December 22nd. He was not vaccinated

*A 38-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on December 8th and passed away on December 18th. She was not vaccinated

*A 62-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on December 16th and passed away on December 23. She was fully vaccinated.

No delayed reports of deaths were received by local health officials this week.

The total number of cases is now at 14,215. Of those, 13,684 are people that have received positive test results and 531 are presumptive. 14 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 11 locally and 3 outside the area. In the past week, CHI Mercy Medical Center averaged 7 COVID-19 positive patients a day in the Intensive Care Unit and 3 COVID-19 positive patients a day in the Progressive Care Unit. 12 of the hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated.
