Winter Storm Warnings are in effect through Monday morning for central Douglas County and nearby mountain areas above 2,000 feet.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected with 5 to 12 inches in central Douglas County, Josephine County and eastern Curry County. Locally higher amounts to 18 inches above 3,500 feet. In the south-central Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains including Crater Lake and Diamond Lake, 10 to 15 inches are forecast with locally higher amounts of up to 30 inches in the higher terrain. Winds will gust as high as 45 miles per hour.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Travel is discouraged due to dangerous conditions.
