Roseburg Public Schools has again received a successful audit report for the district’s stewardship of public funds.
Superintendent Jared Cordon said KDP Certified Public Accountants LLP presented the firm’s 2020-21 audit report during this month’s school board meeting. Cordon said the district was awarded an “unmodified opinion”, which is the highest level of assurance the auditors can provide. A release said the district’s annual audits have achieved this status for the past several years.
Cordon said, “Our Business Operations team has done an excellent job providing transparency and quality control in the distribution of public funds intended to support students and their educational experiences”. Cordon said, “I am grateful for their diligence”.
Cordon noted that the yearly auditing process is particularly important as the district continues its work on a proposed capital improvement bond measure for May of 2022.
Cordon said the auditing process and the district’s repeated high marks, “…should provide assurance to our community that we are responsible stewards of their investments”.
