On Sunday, staff with the City of Reedsport were contacted regarding a sewage overflow near the 900 block of 8th Street. A release said wastewater crews immediately responded and removed debris from the sewer line, which had caused the overflow. They also cleaned the area and posted signage as required for a minimum of 24-hours.

Staff with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality was contacted and notified of the incident, as was Oregon Emergency Spill Response. The release said as the clean-up was successful, no stormwater or surface waters contamination is expected.
