2 Sutherlin teens have been arrested regarding the star that was stolen off the top of the Oakland Community Christmas Tree early Saturday.

Captain Kurt Sorenson of Sutherlin Police said the star has been recovered, though it is damaged.

An 18-year old male was cited and released for second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree theft. A 17-year male was cited and released for theft by receiving.

Sorenson said it should be noted that the 17-year old has had numerous police contacts and SPD is very familiar with him
