Parking enforcement services are slated to return to downtown Roseburg starting February 1st.

Monday night the Roseburg City Council awarded a contract with ACE parking for a three-year period, with the option to renew for two additional three-year periods upon final negotiation. It applies to the Laurelwood neighborhood as well. Both areas have been without active parking enforcement since early in 2020 when the Downtown Roseburg Association ended its role in that area.

Councilors adopted a resolution re-authorizing the city’s Vehicle Camping Pilot Program through the end of March. They adopted an order extending the Declaration of Emergency in the city, due to COVID-19, until the end of June next year.

A number of other proposed actions were approved as well.

After interviewing two potential members for a seat on the Planning Commission, councilors decided to continue solicitating for additional applicants.

Mayor Larry Rich provided a Proclamation in Honor of Gary Wayman in recognition of his contributions to the community, expressing deep appreciation for his service and extending sincere sympathy upon his recent passing.

Monday’s meeting was the final one for the council this year. The next meeting is Monday January 10th. It will include the State of the City Address from Mayor Larry Rich.
