A bicyclist was hurt when she was struck by a vehicle on Saturday.

A Sutherlin Police report said just after 6:30 p.m. the rider was crossing in a crosswalk at the corner of Central and Hawthorne when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The rider was taken by ambulance to CHI Mercy Medical Center, due to injuries to her legs. She was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesperson.

The driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and for operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile communication device.
