ODOT STARTING NIGHTTIME SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION NEAR EDENBOWER

Contractors for the Oregon Department of Transportation are beginning construction this week on a pair of ADA ramps in north Roseburg near the Interstate 5 Edenbower interchange.

Dan Latham of ODOT said on Wednesday and Thursday nights, crews will begin work to replace the sidewalk ramps at the intersection of Edenbower Boulevard and Broad Street. Latham said the work will begin at 8:00 p.m. and continue until 4:00 a.m.

Construction will include cutting and removing the existing concrete sidewalk and adjacent asphalt. Nearby residents should expect noise through each night.

Latham said local motorists should watch for possible lane and shoulder closures along with brief delays. Flaggers will provide traffic control as needed. Pedestrians will be provided with alternate routes.

All work on the two sidewalk ramps should be completed by the end of January. Most construction will take place at night.
