The Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team has arrested a man on multiple drug charges, following an investigation.

Lieutenant Rick McArthur of DINT said detectives had spent several weeks looking into reported illegal drug activity taking place at a residence in the 100 block of Northpark Lane in Roseburg. McArthur said eventually detectives were able to establish probable cause for the arrest of 65-year old Norbert Huntley, based on activities that were allegedly taking place at the home.

Thursday at about 5:30 p.m. detectives culminated the investigation with a traffic stop of Huntley on Interstate 5 near Yoncalla. Drug detection K9 Trapper was allowed to check the exterior of the vehicle. Trapper alerted to the presence of narcotics inside. McArthur said a search of the vehicle allegedly revealed approximately 3.1 grams of suspected heroin and 26.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine hidden inside the vehicle.

Huntley was arrested for crimes that had already been established by detectives as well as for several new crimes. Huntley was charged with unlawful possession and attempted delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of heroin, two counts of unlawful delivery of heroin, and a new charge and a warrant for driving while suspended-misdemeanor. Bail was set at $756,250.
