Staff with the Douglas County Planning Department has extended the public comment period for the Transportation System Plan until the end of the year.
A release said the TSP is a county-wide plan that will recommend policies, programs and physical improvements to county roads, streets and sidewalks to address current and future transportation needs in the county. In coordination with the Oregon Department of Transportation, the plan will also consider state-owned transportation facilities in the county. The TSP is focused on improving connections and safety conditions for all travelers including those who drive, walk, take transit, bicycle, use a wheelchair or cane, or deliver freight. It will also address ports, rail, freight and bridges.
An online TSP open house has more information and offers a way for the public to comment. It can be accessed at: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/a96b1af3d3f6442ba385b00a5cac86d9
The current TSP was created in 1998.
