Oakland School District is temporarily moving to distance learning.

An email to parents from Superintendent Patti Lovemark Wednesday afternoon said the district has learned that 2 of their bus drivers have tested positive for COVID-19. Lovemark said they are short on drivers and this situation means all drivers will be quarantined, except for 1.

Parents were asked to pick up students themselves, if possible, on Wednesday afternoon. Chromebooks were sent home with students as well.

Lovemark said Thursday will be a day of students working on assignments online. Teachers will be calling and checking with students, and planning for distance learning for next week. The district does not hold classes on Fridays.

Lovemark said the district is working on a plan for athletics and other activities during the period of distance learning. She anticipates that students will return to campus on Monday, December 13th.
