A Sutherlin man was charged with first-degree arson for a fire involving his home, Sunday night.
Sutherlin Police Chief Troy Mills said at about 7:25 p.m. officers were dispatched to the fire at Dawn Rey Mobile Home Park at 1050 West Central Avenue. Sutherlin Fire crews arrived to find a fully engulfed trailer, which was the home of Charles Kicinski.
Mills said witnesses reported seeing a man running from the trailer shortly after the fire started. Officers found the suspect in a field close to the location with the help of witnesses who kept him in sight and pointed him out to officers. He was identified at 46-year old Charles Kicinski.
The man was arrested and taken to jail. Bail was set at $375,000. Mills said there were no injuries in the fire and it was extinguished by the Sutherlin Fire Department.
