County government offices will be closed on Thursday for the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

A release from the Board of Commissioners said that includes offices at the courthouse and Justice Building, the County Annex in Reedsport, transfer stations, the fairgrounds, and all external government offices. In addition, some county departments will have limited hours, be lightly staffed, or closed to the public on Friday. Residents should call ahead to see if the department they want visit, has staff available to help them out. Go to www.co.douglas.or.us to access direct numbers for each department.

Douglas County senior dining sites – curbside meal service and Meals on Wheels programs in Glendale, Glide, Yoncalla, Reedsport, Sutherlin, Riddle and Winston will be closed both Thursday and Friday. Dining sites will resume their drive through meal and Meals on Wheels service next Tuesday November 30th. Patrons needing meals for Thursday and Friday are asked to request an extra meal during this drive through visit on Tuesday.

Even with county government offices closed, many officials and public employees are still working. Sheriff’s deputies, 911 communications and DCSO staff will continue to provide law enforcement protection and emergency assistance for residents.
