TWO CALIFORNIA MEN ARRESTED, CHASE STARTS IN DOUGLAS COUNTY

Two California men were arrested in Josephine County late Wednesday, following a chase that began in Douglas County.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 10:00 p.m. a trooper located a suspect vehicle related to a series of thefts reported to the Tualatin Police Department. After attempting a stop on Interstate 5 southbound near the Clarks Branch exit, the sedan fled. Douglas County deputies pursued the vehicle into Josephine County, but discontinued the chase just north of the Sexton Summit.

Josephine County deputies stopping the fleeing vehicle several miles later with the use of stop sticks. The occupants fled the vehicle. They were detained after a short foot pursuit.

The report said the men, ages 26 and 27, from Bay Point and Hayward respectively, were transported by OSP and custody was transferred to Tualatin PD officers. The stolen property was returned to the owners.
