A Myrtle Creek man was jailed on drug and other charges on Tuesday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 10:20 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle for multiple violations on Interstate 5 northbound near Tri City. The driver failed to carry and possess a license and was detained. Drugs were allegedly located in his pocket. The man was identified as 55-year old Robert Dumont.
The report said the suspect had allegedly failed to register as a sex offender. The man admitted that there were more drugs in the car, and both methamphetamine and some ammunition was reportedly located.
Charges included unlawful possession and delivery of methamphetamine, failure to register as a sex offender, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited and for failure to present and carry a license. Dumont was released from custody on Wednesday.
