CITY EMPLOYEES INVITE RESIDENTS TO HELP CHILDREN DURING HOLIDAYS

November 17, 2021 3:30 a.m.

Employees with the City of Roseburg are inviting residents to join them and help children during the holiday season.

A release said staff are buying children’s pajamas for the Douglas County Court Appointed Special Advocates pajama drive and are giving gifts of children’s clothing, toys and supplies for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. In addition, Roseburg Police officers will participate in a “Shop with a Cop” event on Saturday December 4th.

To participate in the pajama drive, residents can buy pajamas of all sizes from infant to teens. Those can be dropped off, unwrapped, at boxes set up inside Roseburg City Hall, the Public Safety Center or at the front desk of the Roseburg Public Library during  hours it is open, starting November 23rd.

To give a child a gift through the Angel Tree Program, pick up an Angel Tree tag at City Hall administration. Tags include the child’s name, age and gender, as well as suggested gift items and sizes. Unwrapped presents and corresponding tags should be returned by December 7th. Gifts can be delivered in gift bags.

Tags are also available at the Salvation Army at 3130 Northeast Stephens. Contact the Salvation Army at 541-248-2587 for more information on that program.
