A Roseburg man was jailed after allegedly including drugs in the money he used to pay for his meal early Tuesday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 1:30 a.m. an employee of Taco Bell in Green called authorities after the incident. 41-year old James Fairbanks was contacted in a vehicle at the business in the 200 block of Grant Smith Road. Fairbanks denied having any drugs on him and stated that he was being set up.

The report said deputies collected a small clear baggy with a crystal substance inside. This is what was allegedly in the $20 bill Fairbanks had paid with. The suspect was reported to be sitting on brass knuckles when he was detained.

Fairbanks was held for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and two counts of being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon. Bail was initially set at $18,750.
