Sutherlin Police jailed a man for warrants and for numerous traffic violations, on Wednesday.

A report from SPD said at about 7:50 a.m. a vehicle driven by a 22-year old man passed an officer at a high rate of speed on South Calapooia. The officer turned around and pursued the suspect, who accelerated his sedan to over 100 miles per hour. The vehicle turned onto Rogers Road where the officer lost track of the suspect.

The report said the officer waited for the vehicle to re-appear, which it did, coming off of Halfmile Road. The suspect drove around the patrol vehicle then turned onto Highway 99 and stopped.

The suspect was taken into custody and held without bail. The vehicle was impounded.
