Two people were jailed following a stolen vehicle incident on Wednesday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 8:25 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle for traffic violations near the corner of East Sixth Avenue and North Umatilla Street in Sutherlin. It turned out to be stolen out of Cottage Grove. The vehicle had its ignition punched.
24-year Ryland Benefiel of Roseburg was the driver. He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, for possession of a stolen vehicle and for a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
The passenger in the vehicle, a 40-year old man also from Roseburg, was also held for a parole violation.
