Douglas County turned out big to honor those who have served the nation’s military, at Thursday’s Veterans Day Parade.
After last year’s static parade format at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, due to COVID-19, the event was back to the traditional downtown Roseburg format. The biggest parade crowd in many years enjoyed sunny skies and dry conditions.

Known as “Oregon’s Greatest Veterans Day Parade”, this year’s Grand Marshals were Post 9/11 Global War on Terrorism Veterans.
Bands from Douglas High and Roseburg High performed. A number of organizations showcased veterans in everything from floats to classic Corvettes. Churches, private schools, granges, and many organizations with youth were there. Law enforcement agencies marched with their K9s as well. American flags were seen in abundance, with many attending dressed in patriotic outfits or colors.
It was the 66th year for Roseburg’s Veterans Day Parade.
