7 MORE DEATHS, 88 MORE POSITIVE TEST RESULTS, 2 PRESUMPTIVE MOVED TO POSITIVE

7 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 88 more people have received new positive test results, and 2 presumptive have been moved to positive, with a positive test result, as of Wednesday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Update covered data reported Tuesday and Wednesday. It said the new deaths reported are all delayed notifications of COVID-19 related deaths. They came from either Oregon Vital Records or from a hospice or long-term care facility.

The newly reported deaths include:

*A 69-year old man

*An 87-year old man

*An 83-year old woman

*An 84-year old man

*An 87-year old man

*A 91-year old woman

4 were not vaccinated and 3 were fully vaccinated.

The total number of cases is now at 12,780. Of those, 12,386 are people that have received positive test results and 394 are presumptive. 26 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 15 locally and 11 outside the area. 4 COVID positive patients are in the Intensive Care Unit and 1 is in the Progressive Care Unit. 22 of the 26 hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated.

This update will be the final one for this week. Beginning next week, the county’s COVID-19 Update will be issued on Mondays and Thursdays only.
