A log truck rolled and blocked the southbound lanes of Interstate Five on Thursday.

A report from Oregon State Police said just after 9:00 a.m. the rig was southbound two miles south of the Myrtle Creek exit. A semi-truck in front of it changed lanes to avoid hitting a vehicle that had previously crashed and was sitting in the right lane.

The log truck driver noticed that vehicle and hit the brakes to try and avoid a collision. The brakes locked up and he swerved left, struck the center barrier and rear-ended the semi-truck. The report said the log truck rolled over and came to rest on its left side.

Both southbound lanes were blocked for several hours. Traffic was diverted off the freeway at the Myrtle Creek exit. Several panels of the concrete barrier were damaged and had to be removed.

No one was injured.
