5 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 72 more people have received new positive test results, and 8 more are presumptive, as of Friday.
The Douglas County COVID-19 Update covered data reported Thursday and Friday.
The Douglas Public Health Network has confirmed the latest COVID-19 related deaths:
*A 76-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on July 25th and passed away on August 7th.
*A 92-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on September 2nd and passed away on October 5th
*A 71-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 15th and passed away on August 19th
*An 84-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 20th and passed away on Wednesday
*A 91-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on September 18th and passed away on Thursday
Local health officials were informed of the non-recent deaths by Oregon Vital Records this week. 3 were not vaccinated while 2 were fully vaccinated.
The total number of cases is now at 12,635. Of those, 12,243 are people that have received positive test results and 392 are presumptive. 24 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 14 locally and 10 outside the area. 2 COVID positive patients are in the Intensive Care Unit and 1 is in the Progressive Care Unit. 20 of the 24 hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated.
