The City of Roseburg has extended a deadline for applications to fill a Planning Commission vacancy to Monday December 6th.
A release said the vacancy must be filled by someone who lives in the city.
The Planning Commission considers long and short-range land-use development issues within the city and the urban growth boundary. The commission makes decisions based on the city’s land use and development regulations.
The commission reviews and acts on quasi-judicial applications filed by land owners and/or their agents as well on legislative applications initiated by the city. While some actions are a recommendation forwarded to the City Council for final consideration, other decisions are final unless appealed to the council.
The commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month.
Commissioner Christy Palmini recently resigned after moving outside the city limits. The person appointed to fill this vacancy would serve until the end of 2024.
City Council interviews of candidates are tentatively scheduled to take place before the City Council meeting on Monday December 13th. Qualified candidates will be contacted to set up interviews.
Apply at www.cityofroseburg.org or via email: info@cityofroseburg.org. Applications can also be picked up in the lobby of City Hall.
