A Riddle man was jailed following an alleged disorderly conduct incident on Monday.
The DCSO report said just before 6:45 a.m. a deputy was in their personal vehicle when they nearly crashed into the vehicle ahead of them near the intersection of Canyonville Riddle Road and Ash Creek Road, in Riddle. The deputy swerved to the right and saw a man lying in the road.
The report said it became obvious that the suspect was trying to get ran over. The deputy recognized the man and called for assistance. As it was dark and the roads were wet, the deputy got the suspect out of the road but had to grapple with him to keep him on the ground and out of traffic.
Uniformed units arrived and the suspect was taken into custody. The man was cited for resisting arrest and for second-degree disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $8,750.
