The Douglas County Tiger Team has wrapped up its outreach vaccination program.

The group, under the direction of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners and the Douglas Public Health Network traveled throughout the county offering free pop up vaccination clinics to residents via a mobile outreach program. DPHN’s Executive Director Teresa Mutschler provided oversight and direction to the team. It was made up of six local handpicked individuals who brought their expertise in specific areas to the team. The group was led by Mike Hansen. Other members included Stephanie Griggs, Rob Gandy, Mitchell Kilkenny, Annie Dannenhoffer and Bonnie Durick. A release said the success of the outreach was due in large part to the partnership with Umpqua Valley Ambulance, who brought a certified vaccinator and a medical assistant to each clinic.

The team successfully completed 129 separate vaccination clinics across Douglas County over the course of seven months. Clinics were held in over 25 locations. During their seven-month stint, the Douglas County Tiger Team was able to administer a total of 1,495 vaccines in coordination with other organizations.
