FIBER LINE CUT IMPACTING 911 SERVICE IN PARTS OF DOUGLAS COUNTY

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has been notified by Reliance Connect of a fiber line cut that is impacting telephone service and disrupting the ability of those affected to call 911 from their landline.

Lieutenant Brad O’Dell said residents in the communities of Elkton and Scottsburg are experiencing the effects of the telephone service outage. O’Dell said residents who have cellular telephone service may be able to call 911 from their cellular phone to summon emergency services. The fire stations in those communities have also been staffed with personnel.

Reliance Connect is unable to provide an estimated time of repair.
