A manufactured home was a total loss following a fire at Shadow Ranch Mobile Park on Wednesday.

Battalion Chief Scott Richardson of Douglas County Fire District No. 2 said at 10:25 a.m. firefighters with District No. 2 and Roseburg Fire Department responded to Shadow Ranch Lane following a report that a home was on fire. Richardson said several callers  indicated that an elderly couple lived at the residence but it was not known whether or not they were inside.

The initial crew made an aggressive interior attack and primary search of the home looking for any victims, but no one was found inside. Richardson said crews worked hard to fully extinguish the fire and keep it from spreading to other nearby homes, as there are many located close by. 19 firefighters responded.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The residents are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
