Cascade Community Credit Union continues an expansion project, as a nearby building has been torn down.

Last week contractors demolished what was originally a house, but had been an office for Umpqua Homes for the Handicapped for a number of years, before being purchased by Cascade. It was just to the east of the credit union’s land.

In June, CCCU announced its intention to utilize its newly acquired property on West Harvard Avenue to update its Harvard ATM location to a drive-up ATM.

CEO Lynn Calvert told News Radio 1240 KQEN they expect to have the new ATM up and running by the end of the year. Calvert said while the existing ATM will be removed, the drive up will remain on the west side of the current building with an in-person teller available for transactions during business hours. She said the new drive up ATM will be available for automated transactions 24/7.

In 2019, Cascade purchased the former Harvard Avenue Drug property, to the west of the CCCU property. That building was later torn down. Calvert said the property is being retained for future use but did not explain further.

Calvert said the entire expansion project should be complete by September of 2022.
