2 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 92 more people have received new positive test results, and 12 more are presumptive, as of Friday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Update covered data reported Thursday and Friday.

The Douglas Public Health Network has confirmed that the county’s 244th COVID-19 related death was a 68-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on September 29th and passed away on October 20th. She was not vaccinated. The 245th COVID-19 related death was a 63-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on September 9th and passed away on October 20th. He was partially vaccinated.

The update said the total number of cases is now at 12,140. Of those, 11,768 are people that have received positive test results and 372 are presumptive. 34 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 22 locally and 14 outside the area, including 1 that has been transferred out of state.1 COVID positive patient is in the Intensive Care Unit and 4 are in the Progressive Care Unit. 29 out of the 34 hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated.

In the past week, 814 total COVID-19 vaccines were administered in Douglas County. 308 of those doses were first doses for those age 16 years and above.

*For those 16 years old and above in Douglas County who have received one dose of vaccine, taking into account federally reported VA numbers, the county is now at a 64.8 percent vaccination rate

*For those 18 years old and above in the county who are fully vaccinated as calculated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the county is at 58 percent

*For the percentage of the entire population of the county who are fully vaccinated as calculated by the CDC, the county is at 48 percent.
