Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged disorderly conduct incident that included a foot-pursuit up a freeway on-ramp, early Wednesday.
An RPD report said at about 12:15 a.m. employees of Denny’s Restaurant on West Harvard called after 33-year old Levi Gilliland was at the business allegedly causing issues. The man reportedly refused to leave the property multiple times when asked to by employees and threw garbage all over the parking lot.
The report said while the officer was on the scene speaking with employees, Gilliland came back to the business but when an officer tried to speak to him, he walked away. The officer told the man to stop countless times but he did not. At one point the suspect started to run away and was chased up the northbound on-ramp to Interstate 5.
Gilliland was detained and charged with interfering with a police officer, second-degree counts of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, offensive littering and for a parole violation. Gilliland was held without bail.
