TWO JAILED AFTER ALLEGED ASSAULT INCIDENT FRIDAY

Two people were jailed after an alleged assault incident on Friday.

A Roseburg Police report said at about 9:50 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance in the 1700 block of Southeast Main. 27-year old Nicholas Ramirez and another man were allegedly highly intoxicated and got into a physical fight. A female adult tried to intervene and reportedly was pushed in the chest by Ramirez with such force that the victim had difficulty breathing for forty minutes.

The man allegedly also threw a glass bottle on the ground with children nearby, causing a risk of injury to them.

Ramirez was charged with felony fourth degree assault, harassment and second-degree disorderly conduct. After arraignment, he was held on $5,000 bail.

The second- man was charged with harassment and second-degree disorderly conduct and taken into custody.
