Two occupants were taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle wreck on Monday evening.
A report from Oregon State Police said at 10:15 p.m. a vehicle was sound bound near the landfill exit on Interstate 5. For unknown reasons, the vehicle drifted outside the left lane and struck the center barrier coming to an uncontrolled rest partially blocking the left lane. A sedan came around a corner and had just moved into the left lane, when the driver noticed the other vehicle was partially blocking.
The driver attempted to avoid a crash and spun out of control. Both of the occupants in the second vehicle were evaluated at CHI Mercy Medical Center. The driver was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesperson. Information on the status of the passenger is not available. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Staff with the Oregon Department of Transportation and construction units in the area assisted with traffic control.
