Suppression repair work continues on the Rough Patch Complex and on the Jack Fire.

An update from the Rocky Mountain Incident Management Blue Team said the effort is being undertaken with hand crews and heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, chippers and various other machines.

Slash and other woody debris are being processed into chips at landing sites and then removed. This process allows for easier removal of debris from the fire area and the forest. Removing the slash piles will aid in further mitigation of wildfires in the future. Traffic is heavier on Highway 138 as chips are being hauled out of the area.

Temperatures will rebound in the fire area on Saturday with mostly sunny skies. Another strong cold front is expected to arrive Sunday morning. Scattered rain showers are forecast with snow at higher elevations.

There is no change in the containment level for the Rough Patch Complex and at the Jack Fire.
