October 8, 2021 3:40 a.m.

Students at Glide high and middle schools will return to in-person instruction next week.

Superintendent Mike Narkiewicz told News Radio 1240 KQEN the shift back will take place starting on Monday. Classes have been held via Comprehensive Distance Learning since September 28th due to a large number of students who were sick. At that time, Narkiewicz said absenteeism had been climbing with 35 percent of middle school and 25 percent of high school students out.

According to the Oregon Health Authority’s school outbreak report, released on Wednesday, there have been 2 reported COVID-19 cases among the student bodies at both the middle and high schools.

Narkiewicz said sports and all other activities would also resume on Monday. Since September 28th, sports practices and games have been postponed and canceled.
