DCSO RELEASES TRAFFIC GRANT STATISTICS

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has completed its tabulation of grant related enforcement related to DUII, speed and seatbelt enhanced patrols which were conducted last month.

Lieutenant Brad O’Dell of DCSO said from Labor Day weekend through September 30th, deputies had enhanced patrols in order to keep the roadways in the county safer. O’Dell said during that grant period deputies conducted 92 traffic stops, 5 of which resulted in arrests.

Statistics include:

*5 citations and 33 warnings for speed violations

*6 citations for driving while suspended

*3 citations and 7 warnings for seatbelt violations

*3 citations and 6 warnings for distracted driving

*17 warnings for equipment violations

*8 other citations and 60 warnings for other violations

*1 stolen vehicle was recovered

O’Dell said funding for the additional patrols was provided by the Oregon Department of Transportation.
