COOS FPA ENDS FIRE SEASON

October 7, 2021 3:30 a.m.

Covering coastal Douglas County:

The Coos Forest Protective Association ended fire season on all lands under its protection on Wednesday.

A release said that also means the end of public use restrictions for recreation, though private landowners may have their own restrictions. Termination of fire season means debris burning is now allowed, though a number of rules apply.

A release from the City of Reedsport said all burning within their city limits requires a permit. Call the fire department weekday mornings at 271-2423 to get a permit.
