The Douglas County Board of Commissioners have received a supplemental supply of personal protective equipment for local residents and businesses.
A release said this is through a partnership with the Southwestern Oregon Workforce Investment Board. Since the community response to the initial PPE supply was so significant, Commissioner Chris Boice was able to request and acquire 50,000 disposable face masks in order to restock inventory for outlet centers that were running low.
Boice thanked Umpqua Dairy Products Company for transporting and delivering the pallets of masks from SOWIB’s warehouse in North Bend so the PPE supplies could get to local residents as swiftly as possible.
PPE supplies are available from 13 outlet centers all over the county. Commissioners are working in conjunction with businesses, chamber of commerce locations, churches and city offices who are stepping up to help. Disposable face masks and sanitizing wipes are available for free, on a first come, first served basis.
