A Springfield man was jailed on drug and driving charges by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.

A DCSO report said at about 7:50 a.m. a deputy was flagged down by a motorist advising him of a possible drunk driver in the area of Pine and Third in Canyonville. The deputy said he observed the driver commit some traffic violations and stopped the vehicle as it attempted to pull into a nearby business.

The report said the driver was identified as 47-year old Joshua Chapman who was on parole for delivery of methamphetamine. A search of his vehicle allegedly revealed 15 grams of meth. Chapman was charged with unlawful possession and delivery of meth, for driving while suspended-misdemeanor and for a parole violation. He was held without bail.
