SMALL AREAS OF PERSISTENT ACTIVE FIRE ON ROUGH PATCH COMPLEX

There were small areas of persistent active fire on the Rough Patch Complex on Sunday.

An update from Northwest Team 7 said the fire required direct suppression by ground crews supported by helicopter water drops on the northeast and southeast flanks of the Chaos Fire and Little Bend fires and on the southeast flank of the Buckhead Fire near Raven Rock. All fires were held in place with minimal increase in acreage.

On other areas of the fires’ perimeters, work consisted mainly of suppression repair and hazard tree removal. The current cooler and wet weather is expected to limit fire spread in the near future.

The Jack Fire is now 65 percent contained at 24,165 acres. The Rough Patch Complex has risen to 52 percent containment at 50,426 acres.
