Roseburg’s only dry cleaning business has announced its decision to close.

A sign at Linen Services Dry Cleaning on Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard said the dry-cleaning division of their business will cease operations as of October 29th. Tuesday was the last day customers could drop off items that needed dry cleaning.

The sign said in the current climate their business has decreased significantly while the costs to operate have continued to rise. It said, “Much like many other businesses in our area it has been increasingly difficult to fill open positions as well as having difficulty finding and procuring supplies due to supply chain disruptions and dramatically increased prices. Over the last year we have continued to operate at a significant loss and cannot continue to do so. Our only reasonable option is to close”.

The current staff will be relocated to the company’s commercial division. Customers are asked to pick up their orders prior to the closing of the store. The business said they will make arrangements for remaining items to be picked up at an alternate location through December 30th.

The sign concluded by saying, “It has been our pleasure to serve you and regret that circumstances are making this difficult decision necessary”.

Mike and Jodi Fassler took over the former Ken’s Dry Cleaning in 2018. The store had been in operation since the 1950s. Linen Services commercial location is on Northeast Aviation Drive and specializes in medical linens.

Management Assistant Autumn David with the City of Roseburg deals with business licenses. David told News Radio 1240 KQEN she finds no record of another dry cleaner in the area.
