A Roseburg woman was jailed for a strangulation charge on Friday.

A Roseburg Police report said shortly before 9:00 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance in the 2000 block of Northeast Stephens. Officers learned that 36-year old Jessica Meacham had allegedly attacked a victim after she believed that the victim had hit their dog. Meacham reportedly pinned the victim down and applied pressure to his throat, causing him to have difficulty breathing.

The suspect was also charged with resisting arrest. Bail was set at $56,250.
