September 20, 2021 3:45 a.m.

The Umpqua National Forest has lowered its Public Use Restrictions and Industrial Fire Precaution Levels due to recent precipitation.

PUR’s have been dropped to Level 2. A release said the restrictions follow active management techniques based on scientific factors, weather conditions and preparedness levels.

The forest has moved to Industrial Fire Precaution Level II, or LOW on all ranger districts across the forest. That means that power saws – except at loading sites, cable yarding and the blasting, welding or cutting of metal is allowed between 8:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
