Registration is still open for the Umpqua Strong 9K/5K Run and Walk event.

Umpqua Strong was created after the tragic events at Umpqua Community College on October 1st, 2015.

This year’s run and walk will take place at Wildlife Safari next Saturday September 25th at 8:00 a.m. Registration cost is $20. Those participating can sign up individually or participate as a team. It is too late to get a race shirt. Those outside the area, can also run or walk the event virtually at another time or location. Kids events will take place after the run and walk beginning at around 9:45 a.m.in the Safari Village.

Since 2016, Umpqua Strong has dispersed approximately $138,000 to benefit community organizations and scholarships. Money raised this year will go to causes supported by the families of the UCC victims.
